A Majestic Masterpiece
Located in the heart of Southern California’s Desert Resort communities, the City of Indian Wells is recognized worldwide for its tranquil and luxurious environment. Through the City’s astute planning and leadership, Indian Wells has achieved status as one of the premier residential resorts and vacation destinations in the United States. Guests and residents alike are continually drawn to the myriad amenities that Indian Wells offers, including four world-class resorts, the Indian Wells Golf Resort and Tennis Garden, a variety of cultural programs, impressive resident benefits, and much more.
The Floor Plan
We’ve named the Wexler home in The Vintage, Morningstar Modern. Built in 1984, this iconic home sits on the country club’s Tom Fazio-designed golf course, with stunning views of the San Jacinto Mountains. The combination of steel, glass, and rock used in Morningstar Modern is characteristic of Wexler’s desert modern design.

Meet the Team Building Morningstar Modern

James McIntosh
JMA Architecture, Inc.
James G. McIntosh, or Jimmy Mac as most know him, brings to his role as principal at JMA Architecture, Inc. more than three decades practicing high-end architecture in Palm Springs, informed by a tenured background in both structural engineering and architecture across not only residential work but industrial and commercial projects as well. Serving as lead architect of the Morningstar Modern Show House, McIntosh endeavors to blend the latest in materials, technologies and structural systems to create a balanced design. Taking advantage of the property’s existing iconic Wexler character, McIntosh will seamlessly incorporate the collaborating designers’ new and unique perspectives into a single, cohesive exhibition.

Ken Alperstein
Pinnacle Design Company
With award-winning designs in South Korea, Mexico, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and throughout the western United States after founding Pinnacle Design Company, Ken Alperstein has had his hands in the ground at The Vintage since 1994, working on everything from large-scale golf course landscape and water feature designs and clubhouses to streetscapes, pool complexes and high-end residential landscape designs. A natural fit for developing Morningstar Modern’s landscape design, Alperstein offers a hands-on approach and attention to detail with a focus on creating through the lens of simple elegance and believability — carefully recreating landscapes to look like they’ve always been there.

Kevin McCune
Earthtones Landscape Company
At the helm of esteemed Earthtones Landscape Company, Kevin McCune’s more than 45 years in the Coachella Valley — including having helped transform distinguished golf clubs and housing developments such as Indian Wells and The Vintage — allows him to offer a most discerning, desert-informed perspective in cultivating Morningstar Modern’s landscape design. Like supplying water and sunshine to his plantings, Kevin knows the importance of nurturing relationships and is excited to be a part of the dynamic collaborating team to create a truly stunning, one-of-a-kind landscape environment at Morningstar Modern.
